Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Katie Rowlett began studying acting, improvisation, and performing on stage at the age of twelve. She received her B.A. in Theater from Georgia State University, where she performed in many plays and student films.
Her perfomances in college productions captured the interest of a noted Atlanta talent agent and she soon moved to feature films and commercials. Katie's body of work includes several independent films and over twenty regional and national commercials including work for the NBA All Star Game, Haverty's Furniture and Chick-Fil-A. She was represented by a top Atlanta talent agency from 2001 until her move to Los Angeles in 2008.
Katie was recently seen on TBS playing "Beverly" in two episodes of Tyler Perry's House of Payne; but, she is probably best known for her role as "Denise" in the comedy satire hit Blood Car. The film was hailed as "fresh and funny" by Variety and Katie was lauded as a "comedic genius" by Entertainment Insiders. The film had a limited theatrical release and is available on DVD in the U.S. and Germany (summer 2008).
In 2008, Katie made the move to Los Angeles to further pursue her acting career. She is currently participating in the improvisation program at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.
